Jason Alexander to Start for Astros on Thursday
Jason Alexander in order to start on Thursday against the division-rival Athletics, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic. Nick Hernandez has been optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. The 32-year-old will be facing the team he started out with this year in the A's, and this will be just his second "start" of the year and 13th of his career after debuting with Milwaukee in 2022. He has appeared in only two games (one start) for the Astros, allowing three runs (two earned) while walking five and striking out six. Alexander had an 18.00 ERA in just six relief innings for the A's earlier in 2025. He has been excellent at Sugar Land in the minors, but fantasy managers should consider him a desperation streamer in his second start of the year, even against the A's.
