Jake Fraley to Make Braves Debut on Wednesday
Jake Fraley (knee) will play right field and hit eighth on Wednesday against Miami Marlins starter Ryan Gusto. Fraley is set to make his debut with the Braves, who claimed him on waivers from the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 21. The 30-year-old hasn't played since Aug. 16 after he hyperextended his right knee in his final game with the Reds, but the Braves opted against placing him on the 10-day injured list. Fraley played in 67 games with the Reds this year and hit .232/.332/.387 with six homers, 23 RBI, and 29 runs scored in 193 plate appearances. He doesn't have a path to regular playing time in Atlanta with Jurickson Profar, Michael Harris II, and Ronald Acuna Jr. as the team's typical outfield alignment. Acuna will serve as the DH on Wednesday, leaving Marcell Ozuna on the bench.
