Hyeseong Kim Goes on Injured List With Shoulder Bursitis
Hyeseong Kim (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list with left-shoulder bursitis and selected the contract of prized infield prospect Alex Freeland from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Kim played in the series opener on Monday against the Cincinnati Reds, but it's something that has been bothering him for a while now, so the Dodgers will give him some time to heal up. Although the 26-year-old rookie hasn't seen consistent playing time on a stacked Dodgers roster, he has taken advantage when he's been on the field with a .304/.338/.406 slash line, two home runs, 15 RBI, 17 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 138 at-bats. It's unclear if he'll be ready to return when eligible on Aug. 8. It's unclear how long Freeland will be up, but his power/speed profile could give him short-term fantasy appeal in redraft leagues with Kim, Tommy Edman (ankle) and Max Muncy (knee) all hurt.
