Hunter Strickland To Throw Off Mound Sunday
6 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Hunter Strickland (lat) will throw off a bullpen mound on Sunday for the first time since suffering a right lat strain. Strickland, who should get the closer's gig back when he returns, could return in mid- to late-June. He's 0-1 on the year with a messy 11.57 ERA, but he had two saves in his three outings with a 0.86 WHIP and should remain stashed by owners who are in need of saves. It's been a frustrating situation for those speculating on saves in Seattle's bullpen among Roenis Elias and Cory Gearrin. Elias is the best bet until Strickland makes his return next month.
