The Athletics announced on Thursday that right-handed pitcher Grant Holman (shoulder) had his Monday optional assignment voided and was placed on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to June 16) with right-shoulder rotator-cuff tendinitis, the team's communications department reports. The move also makes room on the roster for the return of J.T. Ginn (quadriceps) from the 15-day injured list. Holmes struggled mightily in his last outing, not recording an out and allowing three earned runs. That outing boosted his ERA from 3.91 to 5.09. He now has 23 innings pitched on the season and a 17:9 K:BB, which is not great. Holman belongs on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.--Nicho Roessler
