German Marquez Tests Hamstring Sunday
2 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez (hamstring) tested his sore left hamstring during a bullpen session at spring training on Sunday. Marquez was forced to pull out of the 2023 World Baseball Classic for Team Venezuela because of the injury, but there are no indications that it will cause him to miss the start of the regular season, barring a setback. Don't be surprised if the 27-year-old right-hander is held back in Cactus League games initially in camp. It's hard to get behind Rockies pitchers in fantasy, and Marquez is no different after he had a 4.95 ERA (4.71 FIP), 1.36 WHIP and 19.3 percent strikeout rate in 31 starts and 181 2/3 innings last year. He's currently listed as RotoBaller's No. 125-ranked fantasy starter.
