German Marquez Set For Live BP Session Saturday
2 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session on Saturday. Marquez is taking things slow early in spring training after coming into camp dealing with a sore left hamstring. It's not a serious issue, so the 28-year-old should be just fine for Opening Day, barring a setback in camp. The expectation is that Marquez won't be ready for Cactus League action for at least another week, but he still has plenty of time to build up his pitch count. He's the most attractive Rockies starter in fantasy, but it doesn't mean he's all that sexy. In 2022, Marquez allowed too many home runs and saw a drop in his strikeout rate as well. Fantasy managers should really only consider Marquez as a streamer on the road in deeper leagues.
