Gavin Lux A Forgotten Man Heading Into 2021
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux was MLB's No. 2 prospect heading into last season, but he wound up playing just 19 games (69 plate appearances) while slashing .175/.246/.349 with three home runs in 2020. While Lux's playing time is still unclear on a loaded Dodgers roster, you shouldn't forget that he hit .392/.478/.719 with 13 home runs in 49 games at Triple-A in 2019. He's also recorded a 20.2 percent chase rate in the last two seasons, which is much lower than the MLB-wide chase rate of 28.4 percent in that span. The 23-year-old's hard-hit, sweet-spot and barrel rates are also all around the major league average, so he has a solid foundation on which to build on. If Lux winds up seeing significant playing time in his first full big-league season, he'll likely be a steal at his current ADP of 244.
