Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane (knee) has resumed skating. The forward will still need several weeks of ramping up before he would be in contention to return to action. The 33-year-old has not played in a game since the Stanley Cup Final in June. Kane underwent several surgeries to repair two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles in September, in addition to knee surgery in January. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status. If he can continue at this steady pace, he may be able to return before the postseason. Last season across 77 contests, Kane found the back of the net 24 times and added 20 helpers with the Oilers. He logged 250 hits and 29 blocked shots. When he does return to action, he could play in the top six and have value in deeper formats.--Andy Smith
