Evan Phillips to Undergo Tommy John Surgery
Evan Phillips (forearm) will undergo Tommy John surgery, manager Dave Roberts announced. He will miss the rest of this season and likely a sizable portion of 2026 as a result. The Dodgers placed the 30-year-old on the 15-day injured list May 7 after he appeared in seven games and tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings. They shifted him to the 60-day IL after acquiring fellow reliever Alexis Diaz from the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Phillips entered the season off a great three-year, 179-inning stretch in which he pitched to a sterling 2.21 ERA and racked up 206 strikeouts against 45 walks. He won't be able to build on that success for the foreseeable future.
