Evan Longoria Sitting Out Wednesday Amidst Slump
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday. Longoria is hitting .233 (14-for-60) with three home runs, eight RBI and 13 strikeouts in the month of May and is hitting .220 overall with six homers and 19 RBI in 182 plate appearances. He doesn't seem to have much juice left and might only be worth starting in NL-only leagues now. Pablo Sandoval is at third base and is hitting cleanup against Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez on Wednesday. Sandoval has a much better line of .299/.333/.629 with seven long balls and 18 RBI in 97 at-bats. He could start to see more playing time over Longoria if he keeps hitting.
