Derek Carr Seeking $35 Million Per Year
2 years agoFree-agent quarterback Derek Carr is reportedly seeking $35 million per year after taking free-agent visits with the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets, according to ESPN's Dianna Russini. "He doesn't need to be the first quarterback to sign (in free agency)," Russini added. Carr has a head start on the free-agent market, but he's taking his time with the process and is expected to have more visits with interested clubs before he makes a final decision. The $35 million per-year mark would tie Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins to rank ninth in per-year salary among signal-callers. Along with the Saints and Jets, the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers have been linked to Carr, and more teams are sure to surface. Carr's 2023 fantasy value will be determined by where he lands, but the best bet is that he profiles as a high-end QB2 for fantasy managers.
