David Peterson Holds His Own Against Dodgers
David Peterson tossed seven effective innings in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. The Mets suffered a 6-5 loss, but Peterson allowed just three earned runs on seven hits, struck out six, and walked two to rack up his seventh quality start of 2025. The 29-year-old has been a model of consistency, having given up three or fewer earned runs in all 12 of his starts this season. Thanks in part to a career-best 56.9 ground-ball rate, Peterson has pitched to an appealing 2.80 ERA in 70 2/3 frames. He's slated to start on Wednesday against a middle-of-the-pack Washington Nationals offense.
