Tampa Bay Rays catcher Danny Jansen was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. In exchange, the Rays will receive infielder Jadher Areinamo from Milwaukee. Areinamo is ranked No. 24 in the Brewers farm system, so not a bad deal for Jansen who is on an expiring deal. This deal gives the Brewers more depth behind William Contreras behind the plate. Jansen is slashing .204/.314/.389 with 11 home runs and 29 RBI across 79 games with the Rays this season. He figures to see increased time behind the plate with Contreras banged up right now. Jansen isn't a great hitter, but a viable option behind the plate, so the Brewers can give Contreras more time at designated hitter.--Andy Webb
