Cowboys May Move On From Tyron Smith
2 years agoDallas Cowboys eight-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Tyron Smith (knee) may have played his last snap with the team. If he does return, though, Smith could return to the left tackle spot and play Tyler Smith at left guard, which was the plan going into last season. However, Tyron Smith's inability to stay healthy has led to Tyler Smith showing he's the best long-term option for Dallas at left tackle. The 32-year-old Tyron Smith had surgery to address a minor knee injury this offseason, and he missed the team's first 13 games in 2022 due to an avulsion fracture in his left knee that he suffered in training camp. Cutting Tyron Smith would save around $10 million in salary cap space. He's played in just 17 games in the last three years for the Cowboys.
