Corbin Carroll Getting A Breather Wednesday
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is taking a day off on Wednesday with the team facing the Colorado Rockies. It's just a day off for Carroll, who has fallen on hard times at the plate. The 22-year-old has really struggled in the second half of the season to this point, going 22-for-105 (.210) with three home runs, three doubles, three triples, 11 RBI, 29 strikeouts, 10 stolen bases and 20 runs scored in 29 games (28 starts) since the All-Star break. He's been even worse in August, going 8-for-47 (.170) with no homers, one RBI, three steals and six runs scored in 13 starts. Alek Thomas is making a start in center field and is batting eighth on Wednesday against Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber. Despite his late-season slump, Carroll has been an excellent fantasy contributor across all categories in 2023 with 21 homers, 59 RBI and 36 stolen bases.
