Corbin Burnes To Start Opening Day For Brewers
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes will get the Opening Day nod for the team for the second straight year against the division-rival Chicago Cubs next Thursday at Wrigley Field. He'll be opposed by Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman. Burnes has even more reason for motivation in 2023 after sticky arbitration negotiations with the team in the winter, and he's RotoBaller's No. 3 fantasy starter. The 28-year-old hurler has made the All-Star squad two straight seasons and was the National League Cy Young winner in 2021. In a career-high 33 starts in 2022, Burnes went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA (3.14 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and 30.5 percent strikeout rate. His 243 strikeouts were second in baseball to only Gerrit Cole.
