Colton Gordon to Make Another Start on Saturday Against Rays
Colton Gordon will make another start in the rotation and face the visiting Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. With both Hayden Wesneski and Ronel Blanco out for the season with elbow injuries, both Gordon and Ryan Gusto could stick around in Houston's starting rotation indefinitely. Gordon, a former eighth-rounder in 2021 out of Central Florida, has allowed nine earned runs on 19 hits (two homers) while walking only two and striking out 14 in 14 2/3 innings in his first three big-league starts versus the Royals, Rays and Mariners. The 26-year-old southpaw gave up three runs with no walks and seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against Tampa back on May 19. Gordon's stuff isn't overly impressive, but he's a strike-thrower and has a plus matchup for fantasy managers in deeper formats looking for a streamer this weekend.
