Cody Bradford to Mix in Breaking Pitches in Next Bullpen
Cody Bradford (elbow) threw around 30 pitches in his fourth bullpen session on May 27, according to MLB.com. Bradford is scheduled for three more bullpen sessions before being cleared to face live hitters. In his next bullpen this Saturday, the 27-year-old southpaw will include breaking pitches for the first time. He has been out all season with a sprained left elbow and was transferred to the 60-day injured list on April 8. Barring a setback as he ramps up his arm, Bradford could be an option for the Rangers' starting rotation in late May or early June. The former sixth-rounder in 2019 out of Baylor should get a long look as a starter when he's back after looking good in 2024 with a 6-3 record, 3.54 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 70:13 K:BB in 76 1/3 innings over 14 outings (13 starts).
