Clayton Kershaw Expected To Return To Rotation Next Week
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that left-hander Clayton Kershaw's (shoulder) simulated game on Thursday went well. He will throw a bullpen session in a few days and should return to the team's starting rotation next week. Kershaw hasn't pitched for the Dodgers since June 27 due to left-shoulder inflammation, but it sounds as though he's on the cusp of a return to the big leagues. The 35-year-old future Hall of Famer is past his prime, but don't tell that to him. He's gone 10-4 on the season with a 2.55 ERA (3.52 FIP), 1.05 WHIP, 24 walks and 105 strikeouts in 95 1/3 innings over his 16 starts before landing on the injured list. The three-time Cy Young winner and 10-time All-Star could be a difference-maker for fantasy squads down the stretch if he's as good as he was before his injury.
