Christian Yelich Placed On COVID-19 List
3 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers are placing outfielder Christian Yelich on the COVID-19 injured list on Tuesday after he tested positive, according to general manager David Stearns. Yelich is fully vaccinated but started developing mild symptoms on Monday. Infielder Jace Peterson was also placed on the COVID-19 injured list as a close contact to Yelich. Yelich will miss a minimum of 10 days, while Peterson will miss a minimum of seven days. It continues a disappointing season for the 29-year-old. He's hitting just .235 with six home runs and 28 RBI, but he also has 44 runs scored, a .382 on-base percentage and seven stolen bases in 221 at-bats in 2021. Hopefully, he can come back healthy and finish off the second half on a better note. Lorenzo Cain is set to return from the injured list on Tuesday, so Jackie Bradley Jr. and Tyrone Taylor should continue platooning in Milwaukee's outfield.
