Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones and Frank Clark are heading into the final years of their deals in 2023 and have a salary cap number of more than $28 million, according to Over The Cap. General manager Brett Veach said the team would like to retain both Jones and Clark beyond next season. But the Chiefs first need to create cap space in order to sign left tackle Orlando Brown. One way to do that would be to release Clark, which would create $21 million in cap space. The Chiefs would then try to re-sign Clark, who led the team with 2.5 sacks in the playoffs. Jones was the NFL's best interior pass-rusher last year with 15.5 sacks and 29 QB hits, both career-highs. According to a league source, Jones wants an extension that will make him at least the second-highest paid player at his position.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
