Carlos Narvaez Out Against Brewers
Boston Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez will take a seat for Wednesday's series finale in Milwaukee against the Brewers at American Family Field. Connor Wong will do the catching for right-hander Brayan Bello and will hit eighth against Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta. Narvaez will get a breather on getaway day after making three straight starts behind the dish for Boston. The 26-year-old backstop has been one of the team's best hitters in May and now has his season slash line up to .291/.359/.468 with an .827 OPS, five home runs, 17 RBI, 20 runs scored and a steal in 141 at-bats. He broke an eight-game hitting streak on Tuesday by going 0-for-3, but Narvaez is hitting .381 (24-for-63) in May with two homers and nine RBI in 19 games. Wong has struggled to get going in 2025 after a breakout last year. He's hitting .146 (7-for-48) and is still looking for his first home run and RBI.
