Carlos Carrasco Could Rejoin Rotation Next Week
2 years agoNew York Mets manager Buck Showalter said that starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (elbow) is making progress and could be inserted back into the starting rotation next week. The 36-year-old right-hander has been recovering from a small bone chip in his right elbow that landed him on the injured list a few weeks ago. If Carrasco returns to the team's rotation without going on a minor-league rehab assignment, he'll be even riskier for fantasy lineups and will likely be on a pitch count. When he returns to New York, Joey Lucchesi will likely be out of a rotation spot. Before getting hurt, Carrasco hadn't looked good, posting an 8.56 ERA (7.48 FIP), 1.61 WHIP, eight walks and eight strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings over three starts.
