Carlos Carrasco Could Rejoin Rotation Next Week
12 months agoNew York Mets manager Buck Showalter said that starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (elbow) is making progress and could be inserted back into the starting rotation next week. The 36-year-old right-hander has been recovering from a small bone chip in his right elbow that landed him on the injured list a few weeks ago. If Carrasco returns to the team's rotation without going on a minor-league rehab assignment, he'll be even riskier for fantasy lineups and will likely be on a pitch count. When he returns to New York, Joey Lucchesi will likely be out of a rotation spot. Before getting hurt, Carrasco hadn't looked good, posting an 8.56 ERA (7.48 FIP), 1.61 WHIP, eight walks and eight strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings over three starts.
