1 year agoThe St. Louis Cardinals selected the contract of top shortstop prospect Masyn Winn from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. He'll take the roster spot of outfielder Lars Nootbaar (abdomen), who is going on the 10-day injured list. Winn, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, gets the call to the bigs after hitting .283/.356/.465 with an .821 OPS, 17 home runs, 15 doubles, seven triples, 60 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 97 runs scored in 104 games for Memphis. The 21-year-old should be an immediate pickup in fantasy leagues as a potential five-tool contributor at a premium position for the Red Birds. With the Cardinals playing out the string in a lost season, Winn should handle regular duties at shortstop the rest of the way in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
