Byron Buxton Away From Camp For Birth Of Son
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (shoulder) has not arrived to summer camp yet because he just welcomed his second child into the world. Buxton underwent shoulder surgery last September and hadn't played in any games when spring training was shut down in March. He should be ready for the start of the season in late July and has a tantalizing blend of power and speed that could really play well for fantasy owners in the 60-game season. There's always the risk of injury, but Buxton is easily a top-50 fantasy outfielder with upside to outperform expectations if he stays on the field. He's still only 26 years old and hit .262/.314/.513 with 10 home runs, 46 RBI, 48 runs and 14 stolen bases in just 271 at-bats last year.
