Brian Branch 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Wait and See Approach
Brian Branch finished the 2024 season as DB1 overall in Standard IDP Scoring. Branch then finished last season as DB5 overall in fantasy points per game, an impressive feat considering he left three games early with injury. In other words, Branch is one of the most valuable fantasy assets at arguably the thinnest position in IDP, when healthy. Unfortunately, the phrase "when healthy" is doing a lot of lifting in that sentence. The Alabama product ended last year on IR with a torn Achilles, which is an injury we have seen sap many stars of their burst and upside. It is this injury that is forcing an elite DB down fantasy boards, where his ADP has settled at DB11 overall. Lions Head Coach only offered fuel to this fire of doubt when, in a June 11th interview, he stated that Branch could return for training camp... or he may not be ready until December. Thus, fantasy managers are currently stuck in a waiting game where the prognosis for IDP's best pure DB is largely unknown. If Branch reports and looks great in training camp, then he should be DB2 off of most boards... but that is a big "if."
