Brandon Nimmo Being Eased In
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo is healthy, but he's taking a slow progression in spring training by design and expects to make his Grapefruit League debut toward the end of this week. He took swings during live batting practice on a back field on Sunday. The Mets are just being cautious with their 29-year-old leadoff man after he signed an eight-year, $162 million deal to remain with the team in free agency over the winter. In his seventh season with the Mets last year, Nimmo slashed .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, career-high 64 RBI, career-high 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 151 games played. Given his presence at the top of one of the best lineups in baseball, Nimmo is an excellent source of runs and on-base percentage for fantasy managers.
