The Cincinnati Bengals are releasing wide receiver Jermaine Burton on Monday, according to head coach Zac Taylor. Burton's release comes after he was suspended for Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. It's unclear exactly why the Bengals suspended the 24-year-old, but it was most likely a disciplinary measure. The former third-rounder in 2024 out of Alabama came out of college with questions about his maturity, and they have followed him to the NFL. Burton has not played at all in 2025 after catching just four of 14 targets for 107 yards and no touchdowns in 14 games (one start) in 2024 in his first NFL season. He will now head to waivers and will get a fresh start elsewhere.--Keith Hernandez
