Baker Mayfield Will Face Long Recovery For Eventual Surgery
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) will need four to six months of recovery time from eventual surgery to fix the torn labrum in his left shoulder, providing he doesn't need his fractured humerus bone or other bones fixed. His current fracture is non-displaced and will heal on its own, according to a league source, but the break could get worse with more dislocations. Mayfield has three shoulder dislocations since Week 2 and didn't play in Thursday's win over the Broncos, although there's hope he can play in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns said they will listen to their medical staff when it comes to Mayfield's status for the Halloween game. His fracture won't be fully healed by next Sunday, but Mayfield could have enough strength to give it a go. If Mayfield doesn't make it back, Case Keenum would be making his second straight start.
