A's Easing Sean Murphy Into Action
Sean Murphy (knee), who had a minor knee cleanup in the offseason, won't take part in a spring game until March 2 as the team eases him into game action. Murphy held his own in 20 games in his first taste of the majors late last year and should see significant playing time in 2020. He finished last year ranked as the team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. Murphy is a defense-first backstop, but he can also produce with the bat and has the makeup to be a future All-Star. In deep mixed leagues if you wait on catcher, Murphy isn't a bad pickup to close out drafts. He's surely in play in two-catcher formats as well.
