A's Calling Up Logan Davidson
Logan Davidson from Triple-A Las Vegas, a source tells MLB.com's Martin Gallegos. The 27-year-old is the son of former big-league outfielder Mark Davidson and was selected with the 29th overall pick in 2019. Although Davidson was being compared to Corey Seager, he's just now making his major-league debut six years after being drafted. He has evolved into a switch-hitting super-utility player and was batting .303 (44-for-145) with two homers, 10 doubles, a triple, seven stolen bases and 30 runs scored in 41 games for Vegas before his call-up. Davidson has been playing shortstop, third base and the outfield, but his best chance for playing time in the big leagues will be at third base for the A's after the team placed Gio Urshela (hamstring) on the injured list on Thursday. Davidson is listed as the team's No. 30 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
