Anthony Richardson Takes Starting Reps Tuesday
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson (nose) returned to training camp practice on Tuesday after having nasal-septum surgery and received his most starting work so far in training camp. Richardson is also up eight to 10 pounds from his playing days in college, now weighing around 248-250 pounds. The young signal-caller went just 5-for-13 at practice on Tuesday, taking all 18 repetitions with the starters. He had some timing/accuracy issues during the session, and he will continue to need to improve the touch on his throws. Richardson is elite physically and as a runner, but he could be more of a developmental project as a passer early on in his NFL career. He has immediate upside as a QB2 in superflex leagues in 2023, but he might start off early in the season as veteran Gardner Minshew's backup.
