Angels Pummel Marco Gonzales For 10 Earned Runs
6 years agoSunday was not a good day for the Seattle Mariners and their starter Marco Gonzales. The lefty gave up 10 earned runs on nine hits and three walks in 4.2 IP as the M's fell to the Angels 13-3. Gonzales struck out a pair on the afternoon and has now lost six-straight after starting the season 5-0. He's now seen his ERA climb from 3.41 to 4.89 in his last two starts as he's fallen off a cliff fantasy-wise. Striking out 54 batters in 77.1 IP on the year isn't salvaging any fantasy value either with his WHIP sitting at an uncomfortable 1.44. Gonzales was once looking like the lone bright spot to the team's pitching staff but can no longer be trusted in shallower mixed leagues. He'll look to get redemption against this same team in his next start, this time in the confines of Angel Stadium.
