Andres Gimenez Activated and Starting on Tuesday
Andres Gimenez (quadriceps) and catcher Tyler Heineman (concussion) from the injured list on Tuesday, according to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith. In corresponding moves, the Blue Jays designated infielder Michael Stefanic and catcher Ali Sanchez for assignment. Gimenez is starting at second base and batting ninth on Tuesday against Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. The 26-year-old will return to regular duties at the keystone in Toronto after missing a month of action with a strained right quadriceps muscle. He went 2-for-12 in four minor-league rehab games and is really only worth rostering in deep-mixed and AL-only leagues for his speed. Gimenez will return to a weak .195/.273/.305 slash line with three home runs, 10 RBI, 17 runs and nine stolen bases.
