Kyle Stowers to Begin Baseball Activities Wednesday
Kyle Stowers (oblique) is set to begin baseball activities on Wednesday. The breakout star has been shelved since Aug. 17 with a Grade 1 strain of his left oblique, but he's on track to begin a rehab assignment this weekend. If all goes well, he should rejoin the Marlins sometime next week. The injury put an early end to the worst month of the season for Stowers, who hit .228/.308/.386 with two home runs over 15 games in August. The 27-year-old has thrived overall, having slashed .288/.368/.544 with 25 homers, 73 RBI, 61 runs scored, and five stolen bases in 457 plate appearances.
