Alex Smith Sore Saturday
4 years agoWashington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith (calf) came in sore on Saturday. He still has a chance to play in Week 16 against the Panthers, but the team isn't as optimistic about his chances of suiting up on Sunday as they were on Friday. Smith will be a game-time decision on Sunday morning and is on the wrong side of questionable as things stand on Saturday night. Dwayne Haskins Jr. started in place of Smith last week against the Seahawks and threw for almost 300 yards and two interceptions. Haskins probably won't have to throw the ball 55 times like he did last week, but the matchup against the Panthers is an attackable one. Both Smith and Haskins are low-end QB2 options for fantasy managers, but they'll have even less appeal with No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin doubtful to play.
