Alex Freeland Homers, Gets on Base Four Times on Tuesday
Alex Freeland went 2-for-3 with two walks, a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored on Tuesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The switch-hitter has been a bit streaky this year, but is currently on a five-game hot stretch where he's gone 9-for-17 (.529) with three doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, eight runs scored, a stolen base, and a 7:3 BB:K. Overall, it has been a productive season for the Dodgers' fourth-ranked prospect, slashing .277/.393/.462 with nine home runs, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored, 13 steals, and despite a higher than average strikeout rate of 24.2 percent, the 23-year-old boasts a phenomenal 16.3 percent walk rate. Look for the former third-rounder to get the call to the big league club later this year, and with a solid all-around skillset, if he's able to regular at-bats, he'll be doing so in one of the better run-producing lineups in all of baseball, giving him enough fantasy relevance to be rosterable in deep and NL-only leagues when that happens.
