Aaron Civale to Make White Sox Debut on Sunday
Will Venable said that newly-acquired right-hander Aaron Civale will make his debut with the team this Sunday on the road against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. The White Sox acquired Civale and cash from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for first baseman and former third overall pick Andrew Vaughn. The 30-year-old requested a trade from the Brewers after they demoted him to a bullpen role and replaced him with pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski. In Chicago, he'll be locked into a starting role for the rest of the year, but that's about where the positives end in terms of fantasy. Civale isn't going to be in line for many wins with the move to the Windy City and the worst team in the American League, and there isn't much strikeout upside. Due to an injury early in the year, he's made only five starts in 2025 and has an ERA just south of 5.00.
