MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (5/28/25)

Ian Happ - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

CeeGee's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Wednesday, 5/28/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers! Tonight we’ve got a compact DraftKings main slate with five games starting at 7:40 PM ET and a broader FanDuel main slate with seven games kicking off at 6:35 PM ET.

Tonight’s slate is loaded with high-upside pitching options and some juicy hitting matchups, but weather could be a factor, especially in Philly and Baltimore, where rain chances are high. Keep an eye on lineup updates and weather reports closer to lock.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/28/2025, with the slate starting at 6:35 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Zack Wheeler - PHI - P ($11,000 FD Only)

Wheeler is the slate’s premier arm, and for good reason. He’s a strikeout machine, boasting a 31.4% K-rate against righties and a 28.0% K-rate against lefties, with a stingy 0.097 ISO and .215 xWOBA allowed to right-handers. Facing the Braves, who strike out at a 22.3% clip against RHP, Wheeler has a great shot at racking up 7+ Ks while limiting damage. His 37.65 point projection makes him a cash game anchor, and his GPP upside is massive given the matchup. The only concern is the weather at Citizens Bank Park, so monitor forecasts.

Hunter Greene - CIN - P ($9,000 DK; $10,200 FD)

Greene’s electric stuff makes him a standout on this slate. He’s got a 32.1% K-rate against lefties and a 25.5% K-rate against righties, and he faces a Royals lineup that’s middle-of-the-pack in strikeouts (18.5% vs. RHP). Kauffman Stadium is pitcher-friendly. He’s a strong SP1 on DraftKings and a great pivot off Wheeler on FanDuel, especially in GPPs where his strikeout upside could separate you from the field.

Matthew Boyd - CHC - P ($8,300 DK; $9,700 FD)

Boyd is a great value play against the Rockies at Wrigley Field. He’s posted a 25.2% K-rate against righties, and Colorado’s lineup is littered with right-handed bats who struggle on the road (23.8% K-rate vs. LHP). The Rockies’ .341 xwOBA against lefties isn’t overly threatening, and Wrigley’s neutral park factors keep Boyd in a good spot. He's likely to be the highest-owned pitcher on the slate on both sites because of his price and his matchup with the Rockies. The weather looks stable in Chicago as well, which is a plus.

Also Consider:

Clarke Schmidt - NYY - P ($7,700 DK; $8,800 FD): Schmidt’s 29.0% K-rate against lefties and solid matchup against the Angels (24.8% K-rate vs. RHP) make him a viable GPP pivot, especially on DraftKings where his price is very friendly.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Trea Turner - PHI - SS ($3,700 FD Only)

Turner is a fantastic option on FanDuel, bringing speed and consistency against AJ Smith-Shawver. His .308 xwOBA and .137 ISO vs. RHP pair well with a low 18.7% K-rate, making him a safe bet for cash games and a sneaky GPP play with stolen base upside. Smith-Shawver’s 13.5% BB-rate to righties suggests he’ll struggle to keep Turner off base, and Citizens Bank Park’s hitter-friendly dimensions boost his chances for extra-base hits. Just keep an eye on the weather in Philly.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - TOR - 1B ($4,800 DK; $3,300 FD)

Guerrero is locked in, sporting a .406 xwOBA and .198 ISO vs. RHP. He faces Tyler Mahle, who struggles against righties (12.8% K-rate, .360 xwOBA allowed). Globe Life Field is an excellent park for power, and Guerrero’s low 14.9% K-rate means he’s likely to put the ball in play. He’s a cash game staple on FanDuel at $3,300 and a strong GPP play on DraftKings, where his price is reasonable.

Bobby Witt Jr. - KC - SS ($5,900 DK; $3,900 FD)

Witt is a five-tool stud facing Greene, who’s tough but not untouchable (7.8% BB-rate to righties). Witt’s .398 xwOBA and .254 ISO vs. RHP make him a threat for extra-base hits, and his 16.8% K-rate keeps him safe in cash games. Kauffman’s pitcher-friendly nature is a slight knock, but Witt’s speed and power combo make him a GPP darling on both sites. FanDuel’s $3,900 price is particularly appealing.

Also Consider:

Bryce Harper - PHI - 1B ($3,800 FD Only) and Kyle Schwarber - PHI - OF ($4,300 FD Only): Both Phillies mash righties and face Smith-Shawver, who’s struggled with control (9.1% BB-rate to lefties). Weather is a concern and may drive ownership down which makes them GPP gold.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Tucker - CHC - OF ($6,500 DK; $4,500 FD)

Tucker is a power-speed gem facing Tanner Gordon, who’s been crushed by lefties (0.200 ISO, .315 xwOBA allowed). Tucker’s .415 xwOBA and .287 ISO vs. RHP scream upside, and Wrigley Field plays well for left-handed power. His 14.4% K-rate makes him a safe cash game play, while his 16.5% BB-rate boosts his floor. FanDuel’s $4,500 price is a bargain, and he’s a great anchor for expensive Cubs stacks on DraftKings.

James Wood - WSH - OF ($5,500 DK; $3,900 FD)

Wood is a breakout candidate against George Kirby, who’s elite but allows a .295 xwOBA to lefties. Wood’s .378 xwOBA and .235 ISO vs. RHP show his pop, and his 0.327 xHR projection is enticing at T-Mobile Park, which can reward left-handed power. His 29.8% K-rate is a GPP risk, but at $3,900 on FanDuel, he’s a nice value play to fit in high-priced studs.

Daulton Varsho - TOR - OF ($4,500 DK; $3,500 FD)

Varsho’s .240 ISO vs. RHP and 8.3% BB-rate make him a sneaky play against Mahle, who’s vulnerable to lefties (25.2% K-rate but .262 xwOBA allowed). Globe Life Field is a hitter’s park, and Varsho’s speed adds stolen base upside. He’s a GPP differentiator on DraftKings at $4,500 and a cash game value on FanDuel at $3,500, especially in Blue Jays stacks.

Also Consider:

Pete Crow-Armstrong - CHC - OF ($6,000 DK; $4,000 FD) and Ian Happ - CHC - OF ($4,400 DK; $3,200 FD): Both Cubs outfielders have pop against Gordon and are affordable pieces for Cubs stacks, especially on FanDuel.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Chicago Cubs vs. Tanner Gordon (COL)

The Cubs are a top stack on both sites, facing Gordon, who’s been torched by both sides of the plate (0.200 ISO to lefties, 0.327 ISO to righties). Tucker, Seiya Suzuki, and Pete Crow-Armstrong are the core pieces, with Ian Happ and Michael Busch as leverage plays in GPPs. On DraftKings, mix and match to fit Boyd as your SP2; on FanDuel, the lower prices make full stacks easier.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tyler Mahle (TEX)

The Blue Jays offer GPP upside against Mahle, who’s struggled with righties (12.8% K-rate, .360 xwOBA allowed). Globe Life Field boosts power, and Toronto’s top bats, Guerrero Jr., Varsho, and George Springer, have the contact skills to exploit Mahle’s weaknesses. Anthony Santander is a nice add for lefty pop. This stack is pricier on DraftKings but fits beautifully on FanDuel, where salaries like Varsho ($3,500) leave room for Wheeler.

Also Consider:

New York Yankees vs. Yusei Kikuchi (LAA): Aaron Judge, Paul Goldschmidt, and Anthony Volpe feast on lefties, and Kikuchi’s 0.150 ISO allowed to righties makes this a great GPP stack.
