MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 9/8/15

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Tuesday, September 8th.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $80,000 in cash prizes, including 8K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

New York Yankees Middle of the Lineup vs Kevin Gausman

As a team, the New York Yankees hold a top five offense against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 104. They look to have a great matchup on Tuesday against opposing pitcher Kevin Gausman, who has struggled in his last few outings. Gausman has allowed seven home runs in his past four starts, so be sure to have a look at Alex Rodriguez and Brian McCann for your DraftKings lineups.

Toronto Blue Jays RHB vs Henry Owens

As right-handed batters, the Toronto Blue Jays hold the top offense in the league against left-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 133. Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista both look to be quality power bats you should target against opposing pitcher Henry Owens. Owens has been extremely prone to getting blown up, and holds a 5.87 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP through six starts.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Clayton Kershaw (SP, LAD) - $15700

It’s absurd. The price tag is absolutely absurd. However, if Clayton Kershaw is going to pitch the way he has been dealing in his past few starts, you pretty much need to roster him if you’re entering a larger competition pool. Kershaw has 39 strikeouts over his past three starts, and needs to remain in your lineup. He will face the Los Angeles Angels, who hold a bottom ten offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 85. Don’t worry though. We’ll walk you through some cheap options for your offense.

Edinson Volquez (SP, KC) - $7100

Edinson Volquez makes for a quality pick as your secondary pitcher as he faces the Minnesota Twins. Volquez remains fairly predictable as a pitcher. He performs well against weaker offenses and struggles against the likes of the Tigers. Volquez will look to have a nice day on the mound against the Minnesota Twins, who hold a bottom five offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 88.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Yadier Molina (C, STL) - $2700

With production from the catcher position completely up in the air as we head into the home stretch, Molina makes for a quality bargain bin option as he faces opposing pitcher Jason Hammel at home. Molina holds a wOBA of .303 against right-handed pitching this season, while Hammel has really struggled with his control as of late.

Billy Butler (1B, OAK) - $3100

Billy Butler looks like a must-start against opposing pitcher Scott Kazmir at home. Butler holds a wOBA of .306 against right-handed pitching on the season, and has been on a nice hot streak as of late. He is 12 for his last 25, with a home run. Butler also has some very nice numbers against Kazmir, as he is a career 11 for 32 against the southpaw.

Daniel Murphy (2B, NYM) - $3400

Daniel Murphy looks to be a great bargain option against opposing pitcher Jordan Zimmerman on the road. Murphy holds a wRC+ of 119 against right-handed pitching this season and has dominated Zimmerman is his career. Murphy is a lifetime 20 for 59 with four home runs against Zimmerman.

Evan Longoria (3B, TB) - $4000

Evan Longoria has been extremely hot as of late and should be a great value pick against opposing pitcher Matt Boyd. Longoria is 9 for his last 29 with five home runs over the eight game stretch. Longoria has also hit left-handed pitching very well this season, holding a wRC+ of 166. Boyd on the other hand has been terrible in his past two starts. He remains a great candidate to give up the long ball.

Corey Seager (SS, LAD) -$3000

Be sure to have a look at Corey Seager for your lineups. He is a stud performer who is still coming to you at a rookie price. Seager is now 6 for 18 and looks completely comfortable against major league pitching. It won’t be long before he climbs the short ladder of shortstops. Seager will face opposing pitcher Andrew Heaney on the road.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Yoenis Cespedes (OF, NYM) -$4700

Yoenis Cespedes is on fire. In his last six games, Cespedes is 13 for 28 with five home runs. The Mets offense has been clicking behind him as well, and Cespedes has been able to add to his value with 11 runs scored during that span. Cespedes should look to have a nice day at the plate against opposing pitcher Jordan Zimmerman. Cespedes holds a trememdous wRC+ of 173 against right-handed pitching this season.

Mark Trumbo (OF, SEA) - $3200

Don’t look now, but Mark Trumbo has actually put together a solid stretch of hitting as of late. Trumbo heads into Tuesday with a nine game hitting streak. He will face opposing pitcher Cole Hamels at home. Note that Trumbo has hit left-handed pitching fairly well this season, holding a wOBA of .319.

Logan Morrison (OF, SEA) - $3100

Trumbo’s teammate Logan Morrison makes for a quality bargain pick as your tertiary outfielder as he faces opposing pitcher Cole Hamels. Morrison has struggled against left-handed pitching this season, holding a wOBA of .226. However, he has hit Hamels extremely well in his career, going 10 for 25.
