MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers - DraftKings Advice for 7/7/15

Zitong's analysis and advice for the top MLB DFS lineup picks on DraftKings for 7/7/15, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your daily fantasy baseball rosters.

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Tuesday, July 7th.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $200,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Los Angeles Dodgers Middle of the Lineup vs Chad Billingsley

As a team, the Los Angeles Dodgers hold the best offense in the league against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 118. The Dodgers have a nice matchup against opposing pitcher Chad Billingsley. Billingsley has really struggled this year and holds a 7.71 ERA with a 1.86 WHIP through four starts. Billingsley is not striking out anybody, and he has given up at least seven hits in all his starts this year. Guys like Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner look like great targets for your infield corners on DraftKings.

Seattle Mariners RHB vs Kyle Ryan

The right-handed batters on the Seattle Mariners hold a top five offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 119. Opposing pitcher Kyle Ryan has struggled this year and holds a 4.55 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP. Ryan has not achieved any consistency this year, as he has only tallied one quality start in seven outings. Nelson Cruz looks like a great target for your outfield on Tuesday.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Francisco Liriano (SP, PIT) - $10,300

Francisco Liriano has been excellent this season at limiting baserunners. On the year, Liriano holds a 2.99 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP. As always, Liriano has been a strikeout wizard and provides incredible value on DraftKings when he can put together a long outing. Liriano has a great matchup on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. The Padres hold a bottom ten offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 90.

Brett Anderson (SP, LAD) - $7,600

Brett Anderson has been incredibly good his past few starts. He has strung together four straight quality starts and even has improved his strikeout rate. This just adds to his value on DraftKings, as he now holds a 3.00 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP. Anderson should do well on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies hold an average offense against left-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 96. Anderson’s improved performance through June warrants his current investment price.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Yasmani Grandal (C, LAD) - $3,300

Yasmani Grandal comes at a dirt cheap investment price in a rather shallow catcher pool on DraftKings. Grandal has performed decently as of late. However, due to the lack of production from the rest of the available catchers, Grandal remains the cream of the crop along with Buster Posey. Grandal holds a .271 average with 12 home runs and 31 RBI. His placement right in the middle of this great Dodgers lineup gives him plenty of opportunity to grab RBI. Grandal just received an off day on Sunday, so you should certainly expect to see him in the lineup on Tuesday against opposing pitcher Chad Billingsley.

Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI) - $5,800

Paul Goldschmidt remains as consistent as ever and continues to be the best option available at first base. Goldschmidt now holds a .348 average with 20 home runs and 67 RBI on the year. He has also been dominant in a small hitting sample against opposing pitcher Yovani Gallardo. Goldschmidt is 5 for 9 against Gallardo, and he remains a threat to contribute across all the scoring categories on DraftKings.

Jose Altuve (2B, HOU) - $4,200

At Jose Altuve’s current investment price, he is truly a bargain pick for Tuesday’s slate of games. Altuve has begun to heat up against after missing games due to injury, and his price just hasn’t caught up to him yet. Altuve is 10 for his last 22 and holds a .301 average with seven home runs and 35 RBI on the year. Houston’s offense has begun to click as of late, and it is providing even more opportunities for Altuve to score runs. Altuve is matched up against opposing pitcher Corey Kluber. Despite Kluber’s impressive strikeout rates, he is still allowing plenty of baserunners in his past few outings.

Aramis Ramirez (3B, MIL) - $4,000

Aramis Ramirez has been incredibly hot as of late and should be a great value pick at the third base position. Ramirez is 12 for his last 22 with a home run. He has now pulled up his average to .244 to go along with 10 home runs and 39 RBI. It is partially because of Ramirez’s excellent hitting as of late that Milwaukee’s offense looks decent. Ramirez is matched up against opposing pitcher Manny Banuelos, who is facing concerns of cramping heading into Tuesday.

Jordy Mercer (SS, PIT) - $3,400

Jordy Mercer should be a safe investment at shortstop on Tuesday. Mercer hit .304 in the month of June and is currently hitting .353 in the month of July. He does not provide too much speed or power and relies on the bats around him to allow him to score runs and add to his fantasy value. Mercer looks like a good pick against opposing pitcher Tyson Ross. He has hit Ross well in a small sample size, going 5 for 8. Ross has also been allowing a ton of baserunners due to his ballooned walk rate.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Mookie Betts (OF, BOS) - $4,500

Mookie Betts has really proved himself as one of the best outfielders in the American League. Betts now holds a .283 average with nine home runs and 41 RBI on the year. He also heads into this week with a seven game hitting streak. Betts should do well against opposing pitcher Dan Haren. Haren has struggled in his past two starts and has allowed a combined 17 hits over 11.2 innings.

David Peralta (OF, ARI) - $3,600

David Peralta makes for a great value pick as a cheap secondary outfielder or tertiary outfielder. Peralta provides ample value in both the power and speed departments. He has also been very consistent at the plate as of late. He now holds a .269 average with seven home runs and 36 RBI. Peralta will look to continue his good play against opposing pitcher Yovani Gallardo on Tuesday. He has hit right-handed pitching better than left-handed pitching this year, and all of his home runs have come off of right-handers.

Chris Colabello (OF, TOR) - $3,300

Colabello provides incredible value as your tertiary outfielder on DraftKings. Colabello has hit home runs in consecutive games in which he started heading into Tuesday. Colabello now holds a .335 average with seven home runs and 31 RBI on the year. Colabello is specifically hitting .381 average against left-handed pitchers. Three of his seven home runs on the season have come against left-handed pitching while facing lefties much less often than right-handing pitching. These factors make Colabello an excellent option against opposing pitcher Jose Quintana on Tuesday.
