MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers - DraftKings Advice for 7/3/15

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Tuesday, June 30th.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $200,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Boston Red Sox LHB vs Dan Straily

The left-handed bats in the Boston Red Sox lineup hold a top ten offense against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 110. The Red Sox looks to have a good matchup against Dan Straily, who is being recalled to replace Brett Oberholtzer in the Astros rotation. Straily did not hold good numbers at the Triple-A level, while the Red Sox lineup seems to be heating up again. Look out for David Ortiz as a bargain pick for Friday’s slate of games, while Brock Holt may provide great sleeper value in the outfield.

Washington Nationals LHB vs Jake Peavy

The Washington Nationals left-handed batters continue to hold the best offense in the league against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 143. Jake Peavy on the other hand is returning from the disabled list. Peavy has only had two starts this season, both of which were subpar. Peavy now has to return to pitching form against one of the best offenses in the league and will likely struggle through the outing. Bryce Harper remains as great of a pick as always. Clint Robinson could provide incredible value in the outfield if you’ve spent heavily in other positions.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Julio Teheran (SP, ATL) - $8000

Julio Teheran’s home and road splits pretty much captures his reputation as the Jekyll and Hyde pitcher of the year. At home, he is the stud pitcher who warranted plenty of attention heading into the season. On the road, he is borderline un-playable and a complete nightmare to rely on. Teheran holds a 2.35 ERA in 7 starts at home, with opposing batters hitting .173 against him. Teheran has a nice matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies hold the worst offense in baseball against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 75. Take the gamble as he could be worth way more than his investment price.

Jason Hammel (SP, CHC) - $7100

Despite some confusion over the probable starter for the Chicago Cubs on Friday, Jason Hammel looks to be the go-to arm. Hammel has a great matchup against the Miami Marlins. Hammel has performed well this year. He holds a 2.92 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP. Dating back to last year, Hammel has pretty much been an ace pitcher in a Cubs uniform. The Marlins hold the second worst offense in baseball against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 82. At Hammel’s current investment price, he is an absolute steal as your secondary starting pitcher.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Wilin Rosario (C, COL) $3700

Rosario makes for a nice value pick at the catcher position for Friday’s slate of games. Rosario holds a .303 average with 5 home runs and 17 RBI on the year. He has pretty much reclaimed everyday catching duties for the Rockies with his great play. Rosario has hit opposing pitcher Chase Anderson extremely well in a small sample. Rosario is 6 for 8 with a home run against Andersen.

Miguel Cabrera (1B, DET) $5000

Miguel Cabrera continues to be one of the best hitters in baseball. His power has waned a bit but his consistency is still there. On the year, Cabrera holds a .344 average with 15 home runs and 53 RBI. His current price tag on DraftKings actually looks like a bargain for Cabrera’s track record. Cabrera is matched up against opposing pitcher Drew Hutchinson. Hutchinson has pitched better as of late. However, he still struggles with control and has not made a quality start in his past four outings.

Jimmy Paredes (2B, BAL) $4300

Jimmy Paredes makes for a boom or bust pick at the second base position. When he is hot, he can provide incredible value at a shallow position on DraftKings. However, he can be in and out of the Orioles lineup. As a result, you must make sure to check starting lineups well ahead of time. For the time being, Paredes should remain in the batting order due to his great hitting as of late. Paredes has two home runs in his last five games heading into Friday. He holds a .319 average with 10 home runs and 38 RBI on the year. Paredes is matched up against opposing pitcher John Danks, who holds a 5.38 ERA with a 1.48 WHIP.

Juan Uribe (3B, ATL) $3400

Juan Uribe is on fire. Uribe is a must-play at the third base position on Friday based on his low investment price. Uribe has been excellent since arriving in Atlanta. He has three home runs in his last five games while going 7 for 18 during that span. Uribe now holds a .279 average with 6 home runs and 17 RBI. Uribe also has excellent career numbers against opposing pitcher Kevin Correia. Uribe is a lifetime 8 for 20 with a home run against Correia.

JJ Hardy (SS, BAL) $3600

JJ Hardy makes for a great value pick on Friday. Hardy has played well since returning from the disabled list. He has never been a great hitter for average, but does provide rare power at the shortstop position. Hardy also sits in a great position to grab RBI in this Orioles lineup that has really began to click offensively. Hardy holds a .250 average with 4 home runs and 20 RBI on the year. Hardy is also a career 8 for 23 with a home run against opposing pitcher John Danks.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Bryce Harper (OF, WSH) $5400

Bryce Harper is as safe of a pick as always. Harper remains the best outfielder in baseball this year. He holds a .340 average with 24 home runs and 58 RBI on the year. It seems that at this point, Harper’s leg injury should be behind him. He has returned to the lineup for the past few games and should be good to go. Harper’s power should be on display on Friday against opposing pitcher Jake Peavy, as Harper has dominated right-handed pitching this year with his slugging rate. Look for him to capitalize against the rusty Peavy.

Ryan Braun (OF, MIL) $5100

Ryan Braun has really picked up his hitting in June and looks to have a great day at the plate on Friday. Braun held a .295 average in the month of June, and is providing value in all the scoring categories on DraftKings. Braun should do well against opposing pitcher Michael Lorenzen. Lorenzen has made some nice starts this year but his walk rate is a major concern and spells trouble to come.

Torii Hunter (OF, MIN) $4400

Torii Hunter makes for an excellent pick as your secondary or tertiary outfielder for Friday’s slate of games. Hunter is having a great season. He now holds a .271 average with 12 home runs and 44 RBI. Hunter has also hit four home runs in his last five games started. Lastly, Hunter holds great career numbers against opposing pitcher Jeremy Guthrie. Against Guthrie, Hunter is 18 for 52 with a home run.
