MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers - DraftKings Advice for 6/30/15

Zitong's analysis and advice for the top MLB DFS lineup picks on DraftKings for 6/30/15, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your daily fantasy baseball rosters.

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Tuesday, June 30th.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $200,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Toronto Blue Jays RHB vs Eduardo Rodriguez

The right-handed batters in the Toronto Blue Jays lineup hold the best offense in baseball against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 142. These same Blue Jays gave Eduardo Rodriguez his first hiccup in the major leagues earlier this month. Rodriguez has shown a lack of consistency. Since that matchup two weeks ago, Rodriguez has breezed through the Royals lineup and then got hit around by the Orioles. Given the circumstances, the righties in the Blue Jays lineup look like great options to target on Tuesday. Josh Donaldson remains a nice option at third base, while Devon Travis look to be a nice sleeper pick at second base.

Houston Astros RHB vs Danny Duffy

The Houston Astros have a great matchup on Tuesday against Danny Duffy. Duffy has recently returned from injury, but he hasn’t put together many good outings this season. Duffy has failed to turn in a quality start in four straight outings. He now holds a 5.44 ERA with a 1.70 WHIP. His walks were a huge issue before going on the disabled list. The Astros should look to take advantage of the struggling lefty. The Astros right-handed batters hold a top ten offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 107.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Mike Montgomery (SP, SEA) $6800

Mike Montgomery looks like a great value pick for Tuesday’s slate of games. Montgomery has been a workhorse for the Mariners this past month. He has gone at least six innings in each of five outings this year. He also turned in a great complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts against the Royals in his last start. It remains to be seen whether Montgomery can truly hold a steady strikeout rate this season. For now he holds a 2.04 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP. He has a nice matchup against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. The Padres struggles against left-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 96.

Ryan Vogelsong (SP, SF) $6100

Ryan Vogelsong is a great bargain pick as your secondary starting pitcher. Vogelsong has achieved some consistency this season, and now holds a 4.05 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP. His walk rate is still an issue. However, he has been able to avoid the long ball as of late. He has only given up one home run in his last seven outings. Vogelsong should have a nice day on the mound against the Miami Marlins, who hold a wRC+ of 79 against righties. Without Giancarlo Stanton in their lineup and the Phillies offense actually beginning to look competent, the Marlins may very well have the worst offense in baseball against right-handed pitching.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Brian McCann (C, NYY) $3800

Brian McCann looks like a great value pick at the catcher position. McCann has proven to be a consistent source of power. He now holds a .270 average with 12 home runs and 49 RBI. He has also hit .306 in the month of June. McCann has an off day on Monday and should very likely be in the lineup for Tuesday against opposing pitcher Andrew Heaney. Heaney posted a quality start in his major league debut, but his struggles in the minors must be noted before considering him a decent pitcher at this level.

Prince Fielder (1B, TEX) $4800

Prince Fielder provides incredible value along with consistency at the first base position. Fielder now has five straight multi-hit games heading into this week, and now holds a .351 average with 12 home runs and 48 RBI. The power is definitely still there, and he just needs the rest of the offense to get one base more often so that he may have more RBI opportunities. Fielder is hitting .387 against righties on the year. He should have a good day at the plate against opposing pitcher Miguel Gonzalez.

Dee Gordon (2B, MIA) $4600

It is difficult to rely on too much production from the second base position, but Dee Gordon presents a great option to round out your lineup in smaller competition pools. Gordon holds a ten-game hitting streak and provides consistent runs and steals. Despite the rest of the Marlins’ futility to get on base, Gordon has done an incredible job this year. Vogelsong may very well dominate the rest of the lineup, but Gordon holds nice career numbers against Vogelsong. Gordon is a career 11 for 32 against Vogelsong.

Nolan Arenado (3B, COL) $5400

Nolan Arenado has been absolutely incredible. He is hitting home run after home run, and now has eight home runs in his last seven games heading into this week. On the year, Arenado holds a .293 average with 24 home runs and 68 RBI. Arenado has a tougher matchup against opposing pitcher Sonny Gray on Tuesday. However, Gray has struggled to keep batters off base his last few starts. With Arenado’s multi-home run potential, he is hard to turn down when he is hot.

Carlos Correa (SS, HOU) $4600

The hype behind the arrival of Carlos Correa seems very well justified at this point. The top draft pick can provide fantasy points by scoring in all of the categories on DraftKings. Correa now holds a .314 average with five home runs and 15 RBI. Correa is one of the righties on the Astros team that should be targeted against opposing pitcher Danny Duffy. With Duffy’s struggles, it wouldn’t be a surprise for Correa to be active on the bases on Tuesday.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Ryan Braun (OF, MIL) $4300

Ryan Braun and the rest of the Milwaukee offense is starting to heat up. Braun has had plenty of chances to drive in runs throughout the past two weeks, and now sits at a .259 average with 15 home runs and 49 RBI. He is also providing plenty of value with his stolen bases. Expect Braun to have a nice day at the plate against opposing pitcher Cole Hamels. Hamels has had some struggles as of late, and Braun has nice career numbers against Hamels. Braun is a career 10 for 31 with three home runs against Hamels.

Curtis Granderson (OF, NYM) $4100

Curtis Granderson has really picked up his power as of late and deserves to be moved into a lower position in the Mets batting order. The willingness to swipe bags will come and go with Granderson, but he is extremely hot at the plate. He has five home runs in his last eight games, while going 14 for 31 during that span. Granderson should do well against opposing pitcher Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks has been prone to the long ball and hasn’t thrown a quality start in his past five outings.

Alejandro de Aza (OF, BOS) $3600

Alejandro de Aza makes for a great value pick as your tertiary outfielder for Tuesday’s slate of games. De Aza has been able to establish consistent playing time in the Boston lineup due to Hanley Ramirez’s injury. He has taken full advantage of this playing time by going 9 for his last 19, with three home runs over this five-game span. De Aza still hits righties fairly well and is matched up against opposing pitcher Marco Estrada.
