MLB DFS Lineup Picks and Sleepers - DraftKings Advice for 8/21/15

What's up RotoBallers. Welcome to another edition of my DraftKings DFS lineup picks and analysis. As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on DFS pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Friday, August 21st.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Colorado Rockies Middle of the Lineup vs Bartolo Colon.

The Colorado Rockies lead the league in wOBA against right-handed pitching. Friday should be a great matchup for the power bats in the Rockies lineup against Bartolo Colon at home. For the past month, Bartolo Colon has been alternating between good and bad outings. His wild inconsistency makes him a prime target to roster hitters against. With this in mind, Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado both look like excellent value picks on Friday.

St. Louis Cardinals LHB vs Andrew Cashner

The St. Louis Cardinals hold an above average offense against right-handed pitching as left-handed batters, with a wRC+ of 108. Definitely have a look at Kolten Wong and Matt Carpenter as you prepare your lineup. They will face Andrew Cashner, who has really struggled with his control this summer. Twelve of the sixteen home runs he has given up this season have been to lefties, who are are batting .298 on the year against Cashner.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

David Price (SP, TOR) - $12300

Among the aces going on Friday, David Price looks to hold the most value based on his recent pitching as well as his matchup. Price has been terrific since arriving in Toronto. He is in an even better position to actually get wins now, and should be able to grab one against the Las Angeles Angels. The Angles hold a bottom-ten offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 91.

Chris Bassitt (SP, OAK) - $6900

Chris Bassitt looks to provide excellent value as your secondary pitcher on Friday. Bassitt has turned in six quality starts in a row, all of which were against decent offenses. Bassitt has also managed to improve his strikeout rate and should be in line to produce another quality start against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays hold a bottom ten offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 92.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Yadier Molina (C, STL) - $2800

Yadier Molina has lost a lot of value on DraftKings this season because of his dipping batting average as well as he low home run total. That being said, Molina should be a great value pick on Friday against opposing pitcher Andrew Cashner on the road. Molina is 9 for his last 29 and has also hit two home runs in his last three games. Molina holds a wRC+ of 100 against righties this season, and should be a great pick based on his sleeper power potential.

Victor Martinez (1B, DET) - $3400

Victor Martinez should be a great bargain pick against opposing pitcher Colby Lewis at home. Martinez has struggled against right-handed pitching this year, but has great career numbers against Lewis in a small sample. Martinez is a lifetime 9 for 17 against Lewis, who has given up 13 home runs in his last 9 starts.

Jose Altuve (2B, HOU) - $4400

Jose Altuve looks to be a very safe pick against opposing pitcher Brett Anderson at home. Altuve has hit left-handed pitching extremely well this year, with a wOBA of .401. He has four multi-hit efforts in his past five games, while Anderson has struggled with his control. This has led to an increased walk and home run rate for the southpaw.

Miguel Cabrera (3B, DET) - $5200

Miguel Cabrera has returned from the DL and is clearly trying to make up for some lost time. He is 10 for 22 with a home run, and this entire offense is clicking with him back in the lineup. His value is supplemented by the 8 runs that he has scored in the past four games. Cabrera has dominated right-handed pitching this year, with a wOBA of .438. He is also a career 6 for 20 against Lewis.

Ian Desmond (SS, WAS) - $3600

Ian Desmond is a great value pick against opposing pitcher Jimmy Nelson at home. Desmond has performed very well since the All Star Break, going .283 with 8 home runs. His improved performance has yet to reflect in his price tag, so definitely look to roster him while the price tag is low. Desmond holds a wOBA of .284 against right-handed pitching this season.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Nelson Cruz (OF, SEA) - $4400

Don’t pay attention to how good Chris Sale was in his last outing. You must start Nelson Cruz against left-handed pitching. Cruz will face Sale at home, and note that Cruz holds a wOBA of .471 against left-handed pitching this year. Cruz already has had some home run success against Sale, who has also remained prone to the long ball at times this season.

Billy Burns (OF, OAK) - $3800

Billy Burns looks to be a nice value pick against opposing pitcher Drew Smyly at home. Burns has hit left-handed pitching very well this year, holding a wOBA of .351. This matchup is also intended to pick on Smyly, who struggled in his first outing after returning from the disabled list. Burns sat out one game earlier this week but should be good to go on Friday.

Rajai Davis (OF, DET) - $3200

Rajai Davis looks to be a great sleeper pick against opposing pitcher Colby Lewis at home. Davis holds a wOBA of .302 against right-handed pitching on the year and should most likely be in the lineup on Friday based on his great career numbers against Lewis. Davis is a lifetime 8 for 22 against Lewis. In what should be a tough day on the mound for Lewis, Davis will look to have opportunities to score runs with the power bats around him.
