MLB DFS Lineup Picks and Sleepers - DraftKings Advice for 10/2/15

What's up RotoBallers. Welcome to another edition of my DraftKings DFS lineup picks and analysis. As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on DFS pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Friday, October 2nd.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $70,000 in cash prizes, including 7K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Seattle Mariners RHB vs Sean Nolin

As right-handed batters, the Seattle Mariners hold a top five offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 119. They look to have a great matchup against opposing pitcher Sean Nolin, who holds a 5.25 ERA with a 1.67 WHIP through five appearances this season. Nelson Cruz is always a viable pick against left-handed pitching, while Mark Trumbo has also been putting up steady production as of late.

Los Angeles Dodgers Middle of the Lineup vs Casey Kelly

As a team, the Los Angeles Dodgers hold the third best offense in the league against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 104. Adrian Gonzalez and Corey Seager both look to be great value picks against opposing pitcher Casey Kelly. In two appearances this season, Kelly has given up seven earned runs in just seven total innings.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Jake Arrieta (SP, CHC) - $13700

Jake Arrieta has been incredible since the All Star Break, and his starts as of late have been nearly spotless. Arrieta should be a lock for a great performance on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers, who hold a bottom five offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 90.

Chris Young (SP, KC) - $4400

Chris Young is a great sleeper pick on Friday as he faces the Minnesota Twins. Young has been able to perform well as a starter this season and was going strong in his last start against the Cleveland Indians. The Twins should be an easy matchup for the veteran, as they hold a bottom five offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 89.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Buster Posey (C, SF) - $4200

Buster Posey should be a great value pick against opposing pitcher Kyle Kendrick at home. On the year, Posey holds a wOBA of .366 against right-handed pitching. He has been a model of consistency in an otherwise barren catcher pool. Note that Posey has also dominated Kendrick in a small sample size, going 8 for 15 in his career.

Darin Ruf (1B, PHI) - $2600

Darin Ruf’s price tag screams for a sleeper label. He will face opposing pitcher Justin Nicolino at home. Ruf only holds a wOBA of .216 against right-handed pitching on the season, but he has been hitting well as of late. Ruf has four home runs in his last nine games, and he has also been able to contribute points through RBI with the Phillies lineup actually getting on base ahead of him.

Daniel Murphy (2B, NYM) - $3900

Daniel Murphy looks to be a must-start against opposing pitcher Gio Gonzalez at home. Murphy has been hitting extremely well since the All Star Break, holding a .290 average with nine home runs. He is a threat to put up a multi-hit game every night, and has even being showing off some power as well. Murphy only holds a wOBA of .275 against left-handed pitching on the year, but has hit Gonzalez well in his career. Murphy is a lifetime 9 for 26 against the southpaw.

Manny Machado (3B, BAL) - $4200

Manny Machado is another must-start infield option as he faces opposing pitcher Adam Warren at home. Machado holds a wOBA of .377 against right-handed pitching on the year and heads into Friday red hot with three home runs in his last two games. Machado has also dominated Warren in a small sample size, going 8 for 11 in his career.

Francisco Lindor (SS, CLE) - $4600

Francisco Lindor should be a great value pick against opposing pitcher Henry Owens at home. Lindor holds a terrific wOBA of .395 against left-handed pitching on the season, and just had a tremendous September where he hit .362 with five home runs. Look for Lindor in every DraftKings format on Friday.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Shin-Soo Choo (OF, TEX) - $4200

Shin-Soo Choo is a must start as he faces opposing pitcher Jered Weaver at home. Choo comes at a great value, and has been one of the hottest outfielders heading down the stretch. Choo hit over .400 with five home runs in September, and holds a wOBA of .391 against right-handed pitching on the season. Also note that Choo has great numbers against Weaver, having gone 15 for 39 in his career against the veteran.

JD Martinez (OF, DET) - $4100

JD Martinez makes for a great value pick as your secondary outfielder against opposing pitcher Chris Sale on the road. Martinez holds a wRC+ of 148 against left-handed pitching on the year, and is also 10 for his last 28 with one home run. Note that Martinez is also a career 6 for 20 against Sale, who has been prone to the long ball in his past few outings.

Kevin Pillar (OF, TOR) - $4100

Kevin Pillar is on fire. He is 16 for his last 28 with two home runs. Pillar will face opposing pitcher Erasmo Ramirez on the road. This season, Pillar holds a wRC+ of 95 against right-handed pitching. He just had a day off on Thursday along with the rest of the Blue Jays starters, so don’t worry about lineup changes heading into Friday’s games.
