MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/4/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Yordan Alvarez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on July 4, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Independence Day! We have a full day of baseball on tap, but unfortunately, DraftKings and FanDuel had to feature different main slates. The FanDuel slate starts a bit earlier and includes the Cardinals/Pirates game. DK left that one off so it could make an early slate that starts before noon. Oh well, we still have seven games on DK and eight on FD. That's a solid size for a slate!

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Thursday, July 4, 2024, with the slate starting at 12:35 p.m. EDT on FD and 1:05 p.m. EDT on DK. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Cristopher Sanchez at CHC ($9K DraftKings; $9.6K FanDuel)

It's hard to envision Sanchez being better than he was in June. He capped off the month with a three-hit shutout of the Marlins. There is always potential for a dangerous game at Wrigley, but it will be cooler than usual today and the Cubs are striking out at a 24.4% clip against left-handed pitching over the last month. The 16 wRC in that span is in the bottom five of the league as well.

Bailey Ober vs. DET ($8.7K DraftKings; $9.9K FanDuel)

I love the price of Ober on DK. He's the highest-priced pitcher on FD, but I still can't argue against him. Ober has only allowed four runs in 21 1/3 innings over his last three starts with 27 strikeouts. On top of that, he has only allowed one run in 12 innings against Detroit so far this year. Both of those starts were before his recent hot streak.

Framber Valdez at TOR ($7.5K DraftKings; $9K FanDuel)

I'm not touching Framber on FD. He's simply not cheap enough. Ben Lively is a better option over there. On DraftKings, Framber is cheap enough to take a shot here in GPPs. Toronto's offense has been much better lately, but not against lefties. The Jays aren't striking out a lot (18.8% L30), but the 22 wRC and .297 wOBA suggest that Toronto isn't making good contact, either.

Also consider: Nick Pivetta at MIA; Michael King at TEX; Kyle Tyler vs. BOS

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Elly De La Cruz – SS, CIN vs. Marcus Stroman ($6.3K DK; $4.5K FD)

Stroman has made millions off of being a crafty junkballer, but that also leaves him prone to the occasional thrashing. Elly smashes sinkers (.375/.540/.800), which is the only pitch that Stroman throws more than 20% of the time (37.1%). Yankee Stadium is nearly as friendly to hitters as Great American Small Park. Look for a strong day out of Elly in this one.

Nathaniel Lowe – 1B, TEX vs. Michael King ($3.5K DK; $3.1K FD)

Lowe has nine hits in the past four games alone! Three of those have left the yard. He has also scored five runs and driven in eight. Sometimes DFS isn't really rocket science. Find the guy who is seeing the ball best right now and throw him out there! Lowe's price is ridiculously low on DK for the production. He has 76 DK points over the last four games!

Jose Miranda – 3B, MIN vs. Kenta Maeda ($3.7K DK; $2.9K FD)

Chicks dig the long ball, but DFS players dig guys that put up numbers. Miranda has a seven-game hit streak going and has driven in 13 runs in his last 11 games. So what if he only has one home run in that span? That's still a lot of crooked numbers! Former Twin Kenta Maeda has been one of the worst starters in the league this year and Detroit's 4.27 bullpen ERA means a lot of runs are still available in the later innings.

Also consider: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Jose Ramirez, Jonathan India

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez – OF, HOU vs. Chris Bassitt ($5.5K DK; $4.3K FD)

Yordan is 8-for-18 with five home runs in his career against Bassitt. Fire up those HR bets and toss him in every lineup at this disrespectful price on DK.

Byron Buxton – OF, MIN vs. Kenta Maeda ($4.4K DK; $3.2K FD)

As a Twins fan, I've believed that Buxton was the next big thing more times than I care to admit. We have seen hot stretches out of him before, but this might be one of the best. Buxton has four homers and 14 RBI in the last 10 games alone! Maeda also has a bit of a reverse split going on over the last couple of years.

George Springer – OF, TOR vs. Framber Valdez ($3.8K DK; $3K FD)

Many closed the book on Springer after a dreadful first six weeks of the season. Maybe the guy isn't washed after all. Springer is hitting a ridiculous .429 over the last week with three homers and 11 RBI. He even stole a base for good measure. Springer hasn't been held scoreless in DFS since June 24. I doubt it will happen today, either.

Also consider: Aaron Judge, Jackson Merrill, Jhonkensy Noel

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Twins vs. Kenta Maeda

2. Astros vs. Chris Bassitt

3. Reds vs. Marcus Stroman
