MLB Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks - FanDuel Baseball Advice for 4/23/16

Chris Durell highlights the top MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/23/16, as well as sleepers for your daily fantasy baseball roster on FanDuel

There is a nice split slate on Saturday with six games in the afternoon and nine more on the main slate.

It should be another exciting offensive game in Coors Field after the 12 run affair last night. Two pitchers(Maeda-LAD, Chatwood-COL) who have had terrific starts will go head to head in the most non friendly pitchers park in baseball.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/23/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Tyler Chatwood

The Dodgers are in Coors Field for the weekend and make a great stacking option on Saturday. Chatwood has been good in his two starts on the road this season but struggled in his only start at Coors giving up five earned runs and only striking out two in six innings. You can stack one through four or get creative if you want to differentiate yourself and stack the four through eight hitters to get Joc Pederson and his double dong upside in your lineup.

Arizona Diamondbacks Top of the Order vs. Juan Nicasio

The D Backs have had no issue with the offense early in the season and have enjoyed their new spark plug, Jean Segura, at the top of the order. The y have power throughout their lineup but I recommend the top of the order as I don't expect Nicasio to be in the game long enough for the bottom of the order to get many at bats against him.

Boston Red Sox Top of the Order vs. Mike Fiers

The Red Sox have scored 21 runs in their last three games in large part to the hot streak of Mookie Betts at the top of the order. I discuss him further in the outfielder write ups and recommend the top guys in the Red Sox lineup vs. Michael Fiers on Saturday afternoon. He has been awful to start the year giving up 22 hits and 12 earned runs in 16.2 innings pitched.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jose Fernandez (SP, MIA) - $11,000

He has been struggling with walks(4.32 BB/9) early in the season but has been blowing hitters away. In his first three starts he has struck out 27 batters in just 16.2 innings pitched and has averaged 41 FanDuel points per game. While the Giants only have a 16.9 % K rate(2nd best) vs. right handed pitching Fernandez will get to pitch in a very friendly pitchers park. If he can control the walks he should easily rack up another 35+ point day.

Masahiro Tanaka (SP, NYY) - $9,500

Tanaka has improved with each game he has pitched so far in 2016 and finally got his first win vs. the Mariners last time out.  He will be in a great spot for win #2 on Saturday as he gets a home matchup vs. the Rays who have struckout the 5th most(25.1%) vs. right handed pitching in 2016.

Michael Wacha (SP, STL) - $8,800

After a terrible start to the season lasting only 4.1 innings vs. the Pirates, he has bounced back going six innings in each of his last two games vs. the Brewers and Reds. In those games he has only allowed one earned run and struck out 12 batters. He now gets to travel to one of the best pitchers parks in the game to face the Padres who strike out at 25.1% clip and have the 25th best wOBA vs. right handed pitching.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Jonathan Lucroy (C, MIL) - $3,000

He extended his hit streak to seven games after going 1-4 last night and has been an extremely consistent cash game option to open the 2016 season. After three straight season of double digit home runs he seen a dip down to seven last season. As long as the price stays around $3K and he keeps hitting in the middle of the Brewers lineup roll with with the consistency.

Anthony Rizzo (1B, CHC) - $4,400

Three straight days he has hit a home run and now has six on the season with 17 RBI and has added 12 runs and 12 walks. He has average 13.8 FanDuel points which leads all batter at his position. He gets a great matchup vs. Dan Straily who started the season out in the bullpen and will be making his second straight start in a hitters park vs. the top offensive team in the majors.

Chase Utley (2B, LAD) - $3,600

The Rockies outscored the Dodgers in game one at Coors on Friday night and Utley went 1-5 but picked up a triple and 12 FanDuel points. Stack the Dodgers again on Saturday as they face Tyler Chatwood who has been great on the road but struggled in Coors Field.

Eduardo Nunez (SS, MIN) - $2,800

He has provided excellent value at the top of the Twins lineup this season at a very affordable price. He has collected 15 hits in his first 13 games and added seven RBI and six runs along with three stolen bases. Take the value with the player who can contribute in multiple categories.

Adrian Beltre (3B, TEX) - $3,900

It has been a terrific start to the 2016 season for Beltre who is hitting .344 with a .578 slugging % for the Rangers. He kills lefties for his career and gets a shot at wild one on Saturday. Carlos Rodon has strike out upside but is struggling with command and couldn't get out of the first inning in his last start.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Mookie Betts (OF, BOS) - $4,500

Continued his hot streak on Friday with a four hit game and now has eight hits in his last three games with a double, triple, two home runs, five RBI, and eight runs scored. Ride the hot streak at mid $4K prices.

Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) - $4,200

He had an off night last night going 0-5 but has been terrific to start the year with five multi hit games where he scored double digit FanDuel points. His price presents some nice value as he is the 9th most expensive option. Stack the Coors bats on Saturday and start with Cargo.

Miguel Sano (OF, MIN) - $3,500

He comes in to this Saturday afternoon tilt with hits in six straight games including three straight multi hit efforts and back to back games with a home run. The Twins have started to hit and score runs after a horrible nine game losing streak to start the season. Jump on board before Sano's price gets up in the $4K range.
