Matthew Stafford's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 12 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Matthew Stafford for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in two-QB leagues with 10+ teams
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB2
ANALYSIS: Matthew Stafford's production has declined since a hot start to the year. He has not thrown for over 300 yards since Week 4, and he hasn't even thrown for over 200 yards since Week 7. His completion percentage has also fell to under 60.0% in each of his past three games.
Nonetheless, Stafford is a viable QB2 with upside in Superflex leagues this week against a shoddy Arizona Cardinals pass defense. The Cardinals are allowing 7.1 yards per pass attempt, the seventh-most in the league. Stafford is averaging 7.3 yards per attempt this season.
The Rams got the good news that Cooper Kupp will be playing this week. He left last week's game against the Seahawks early with an ankle injury. With Kupp and Puka Nacua on the field, the Rams may be able to attack a vulnerable Cardinals secondary. Stafford has yet to finish as a top-12 QB, but he has finished as a top-24 fantasy QB in eight of the nine games he has played, which would have made him worthy of a start as the second quarterback in two-QB leagues.
