LCS DFS Picks for 07/18/21 - League of Legends Daily Fantasy for FanDuel & DraftKings

Expert League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 07/18/21.

Hey everyone, good morning/afternoon, and welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LEC as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer Split. Today, I'll be focusing on the 5-game LCS slate starting at 4 P.M. EST.

FlyQuest was finally taken off of their throne with their first loss using their new roster. This returning to earth from them might dissuade all from using them today, especially against 100 Thieves. Today's slate has about 3 really close games and 2 relatively mismatched ones. Should be a fun one!

Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice and analysis for the five-game LCS slate that locks on Sunday, July 18th, at 4:00 PM. Thanks for reading, you can find me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS for more DFS related content!

LCS Matchups

  • CounterLogic Gaming (+140) vs. Immortals(-171)
  • Team SoloMid (-118) vs. Liquid (-102)
  • Evil Geniuses (-242) vs. Dignitas (+194)
  • FlyQuest (+213) vs. 100 Thieves (-268)
  • Cloud9 (-277) vs. Golden Guardians(+220)

CounterLogic Gaming vs. Immortals

This is one of the more interesting games on the slate. IT should likely be one of the three high-paced games today with the C9 and EG games being the other 2.

CLG has been dealing with their drama still and Damonte hasn't settled into this team as of yet. In addition, I'm sure most of the players/coaches are unhappy with the events lately and might not be playing their best as a result.

For IMT, they're very off and on this split. For example, Friday they beat C9 and Saturday they got dominated by TSM. Which version of Immortals show up today? Only time will tell.

This is not a game I'll be targeting in Cash game formats but will likely have a lot in GPPs.

Top CLG Plays: Finn, Broxah

Top IMT Plays: Raes, Insanity

Team SoloMid vs. Liquid

Another battle of the top of the table here. Both of these teams are in the top 4 that tower over the rest of the league. This game likely goes under-owned in GPPs because it's a close game by odds and it's also a game with TSM. Because of TSM's pace a large majority of the time, except for yesterday, the ownership on their games is generally lower than it should be. Couple that with the close game and I doubt we see over 10% for any of these guys in GPPs.

Liquid has lost 2 of their last 3 games and they look to improve today. With the lane mismatches that are present here, TSM clearly ahead in Mid and TL clearly ahead in Bot, this game will be interesting. I'm more likely to play Liquid stacks in GPPs because they'll condense their kill shares onto a few players.

Top TSM plays: PowerOfEvil

Top TL plays: Tactical, CoreJJ

Evil Geniuses vs. Dignitas

Evil Geniuses have been on a roll the last few weeks. Theyve been taking down the top and bottom of the league alike and they don't plan on stopping here. They play a fun style for DFS and they enjoy a good team fight so they hold a lot of interest for me in cash and GPPs.

Dignitas is clearly the worse team here, but the nice thing about LCS is that anyone can win a single game. Dignitas will be a team I look to have in my GPP builds as in the outcomes they do win it's likely they put up very good scores.

Both sides of this game are really good stacks in GPPs but only EG is a team you should be using in Cash formats.

Top EG plays: Danny, Impact

Top DIG Plays: Neo, FakeGod

FlyQuest vs. 100 Thieves

FlyQuest came down from their high and lost their first game with their academy squad yesterday. Today they find themselves up against a very tough team in 100T. The odds have this game largely in favor of 100T, and while that's likely true, It might not be as extreme. I'd put the line on this game at around 60/40 with a 60% for 100T and 40% for FQ.

100T have had some lapses in gameplay this split and while, for the most part, they've been dominant, they do leave the door open for their opponents relatively often.

This is one of my favorite games to target in GPPs. FQ isnt a team that gives up while they're down and therefore if 100T can pull ahead they have a really nice chance at putting up high scores. If FQ are going to win its going to be through team fights and out-killing their opponents. This also points towards nice scores.

I'll likely have a bunch of exposure to this game.

Top FQ Plays: Triple, Nxi

Top 100T Plays: FBI, Closer, Abedagge

Golden Guardians vs. Cloud9

The last game of the day is a cut-and-dry one for me. Golden Guardians have shown success against some of the weaker teams in the LCS but C9 is a different class. I expect GG to keep trying to fight and C9 to outclass them each time leading to some insane scores for their players.

C9 are definitely my favorite cash game spot with a very nice floor/ceiling combination. I'm going to be wary about playing them too much in GPPs because C9 as a massive favorite is very often the mega-chalk on a slate. I might limit myself to small stacks of them due to this and hope another team outscores them.

Top C9 Plays: Everyone.

Summary

  1. C9 and EG seem like my favorite cash lineup spots
  2. TSM vs. Liquid should go way under-owned but I will have some larger stacks in the large field GPPs.
  3. FlyQuest is up against a very tough team in 100T but I still feel they have a good chance.
  4. I'm not one to make predictions but I'm going to have a fun 5 game parlay each week where I post my picks here in the summary. This week I'm going with CLG, Liquid, Evil Geniuses, FlyQuest, Cloud9! Good luck to all that are playing this weekend!
